Two Kinds of Faith
The Word says, “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-18) When we accept Jesus as our Lord, we become new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). We are redeemed from the curse of the enemy and made new. Our spirit is born again and we become children of God. As His children we now live by faith. It’s a different way from how the world lives. The Bible teaches us that there are degrees of faith (1 Corinthians 3:1-4). And believers can remain immature and carnal if they don’t develop their faith. Sometimes, unless we are confronted with the truth, we may not even realize we are yet babes in Christ. That was the condition of those Jesus warned about in Matthew 7:21-23 when He said He would declare to them, “I never knew your.”
Developing our faith is the choice of each individual. It’s not up to God. It’s up to each one of us. We are called to live by faith; to walk in the Spirit; to become mature so we can be that bright light that shine in the dark world and bring people into a saving knowledge of Jesus and who don’t yet know His love.
