Believe You Receive
“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:22
What is your reaction when you read that statement from Jesus? Do you accept His words as truth? Is there still some doubt inside of you? Today’s lesson focuses on what it means to truly believe so you can receive the promises that God makes to you in His Word.
Your Journey in Faith is specially designed to help you develop your faith as you experience your sacred time of extended prayer and fasting. Take this opportunity to learn more about yourself and the changes you can make in your life of faith.

Thank you Susan. This lesson is an answer to a prayer I was “hoping” God would answer. I just feel the scales have fallen off my eyes.Have heard many pastors preach about you already having it, missed the connection about “believing”. O wow. Just want to stay on and meditate. Thank you Susan and Thank you Lord.
Dear Susan, At first, when I first saw your emails in my emails, I did not want to engage. I didn’t know who you were but I was drawn to the fact that you were using God’s Word. So I started to occasionally read what you sent. I was half heartedly drawn to the Daniel Fast and I was curious, as I already knew about it but hadn’t had the courage to step out and do it. And I really wanted to draw close to our God and Lord, and I thought that if I didn’t take this opportunity to commit to engage in the Daniel Fast, that I was saying, No, to engaging with my God. Our God is so amazing. He helped me before I had decided to do the study..just before Christmas I wasn’t feeling well, I had a sore throat and I didn’t want to eat all the wonderful foods I had prepared for Christmas and the New Year….very unusual as I had been looking forward to the food part of Christmas. I almost didn’t do the D. Fast. The day of the fast I began then had a normal meal. I realized that I was already prepared as I hadn’t had coffee, cake, chocolates, etc, so it was simply a decision to do it and I had your help to cleanse my body, soul and spirit and get a deeper understanding of God’s will for my life, which I truly want. Thank you Susan for continuing to sent your emails and thank you for offering this opportunity to walk in fellowship with Our Lord and everyone who is on this journey. I feel so blessed and grateful and so happy that I did choose to do the Daniel Fast. I am learning more about God on a very personal level and learning what I need to do. That God is just waiting for me to partner with Him on this amazing life journey. Thank you again for listening to Him so that I could have the opportunity to know my Lord better. May His will be done in each of our lives. He just wants the very best for us even though we don’t always see or understand this. God really does have the capacity to turn the negative events around and use them for good. I’ve experienced this in my life. Thank you again, Susan. May His blessings rain down upon you and keep you safe, always.
Dearest Francoise, your message has brought this girl to tears! I am humbled to hear how God works so sweetly and gently – and in this case using me – to minister to His people. He is so lovely and loving.
Thank you for taking the time to write . . . and I too am so very glad that you responded to the nudge and entered the Fast.
Blessings to you!
Thanks Susan for this message today. I am uplifted by your daily messages which cause me to pause and reflect deeply. I have realized that I have operated my whole life by sense knowledge and not faith knowledge. I pray hoping that my prayers would be answered and not believing that I have it already. I know that deep down it is because of my unworthiness, my sins of impurity, adultery and abortion that I can only hope for things unseen. Isn’t that what faith is about? ‘The substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen’ ( Hebs. 11:1). I wish I didn’t have to look back at my life on this I did over 30 years ago, but my sins are always before me even though I have confessed them. How do I let go and let God be? How do I reach that point to believe that I have what I pray for already? I pray that through the discipline of this fast, God will open ways for me to draw closer to him.
Sandra
Yes you have been forgiven of all the past, praise God! But I wanted to share with you possibly checking to see if their are any churches that offer a bible study called Forgiven and set Free. It is a abortion recovery study and it’s amazing when you allow God to shine his light on this, you come away from this study walking in freedom. I too have had all those things in my past and took this study reluctantly thinking I don’t need this. I’m forgiven and yes your forgiven but there’s something that happens when you do this study in a safe environment with other women. It’s a healing process that happens knowing that it’s all wrapped up in mercy and grace with our loving Father. I encourage you to take this study. God bless you!
Sandra, if you have repented and have asked God for forgiveness of all your sins, then you are a new creature in Christ, old things are passed away, behold , all things are become new,(2 cor 5:17). and there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death(romans 8:1-2). Meditate on these words until it become alive in your spirit.
Also, Sandra, as a sister in Christ, i would suggest you would listen to Derek Prince teaching on how to be delivered from demonic spirits. I would like to explain but if you listen yourself to the teaching you will understand why i strongly suggest you listen to it. I was delivered while i was listening to it and been set free since then.
just try to help. God bless.
Thank you Susan for this great lesson today. Is Faith knowledge the same as Resurrection knowledge? My faith continues to be strengthened day by day on my journey with all the devotional and lessons you have been sending out.May God continue to shower you with blessings to
Continue
on this great ministry.
Asinatre.
Thank you, Asinate.
Yes, Faith Knowledge and Resurrection Knowledge Faith are the same. There are different “labels” that people apply to these measures. The main difference is that Sense Knowledge (also called Natural Man Knowledge) is in the mind and not in the heart (or our spirit that is connected with the Spirit of God).
Thanks for your question.
I felt led to share this just in case someone else started out like I did. The first few days were good and then I got really sick and had no energy to prepare what I promised to give up and also had to leave for a trade show with my job still very sick and everything had something in it I couldn’t have but I still did the very best I could with what I was facing and after coming home got a lot worse in my health and again missed the mark of my fast. I’ve been sticking to it like glue since I healed from the sickness and never did I stop praying and asking God and thanking Him for never giving up on me. My flesh was telling me I was a failure but my Spirit said no you are not keep pushing through, you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. I’m so happy I listened because His words have shone through me like the brightest light I’ve ever encountered. His words come alive in me everyday and He never leaves us when we have a sincere heart about doing His will and not our own. Thank you for the lessons with this fast they really open you up to remind yourself of what is real and what is not. God is so good!
Susan,
My question after listening to Lesson 14 is…how do we pray for something that we want for someone else. Each one of us has free will to make choices of our own. When praying and asking for a child’s marriage to succeed and for the Holy Spirit to draw them closer to God, how do we believe for what we ask for? I know He hears my prayer for them, but how do I believe they will receive what I pray for concerning them?
Annelia, you are being called to stand for those you love. I have been in that same place with my children.
My son, who is a believer, was going through a very hard time. I sought the Holy Spirit and asked Him to minister to the spirit that was in my son. I also prayed that my son would encounter people, situations, or thoughts that would draw Him closer to Christ and bring him back to health and truth.
We all have free choice, including those we love. So we can continue to pray, but they still have the choice as to whether they will follow the leading of the Lords.
Be blessed and keep praying!
Susan, I recently sent a message saying that I was unable to hear your message. As I look closer, I noticed an icon that I had been missing that enabled me to increase the volume of the message. So, now I can hear.

Continue to ask God to intervene. But you must also accept that God has given us a free choice. You child has a free choice. So yes, pray. But also know that you are not in control And either is God. He has given each person the option to choose Him and His ways.
Susan, I am a born again Christian and have seen God move in my life, and the lives of others; I have also received several miracles from our loving Father and enjoy sharing His love and message of salvation with others.
I am concerned with your teaching today, as it causes a lot of confusion in the heart of the believer.
So in you audio lesson today, are you saying that if we do not totally believe that we will receive what we have asked God for (and it is in His word and will) we will not receive it?
I do not agree with this “believe it and receive it” teaching. If what you say is true, then God would have healed a lot of faithful christians I have known and watched die over many years. To believe it, is to have faith that we will receive something from God, so you are essentially saying that we have to have enough faith in order to receive. What happened to only needing faith as big as a mustard seed?
Hi Cleda,
I know much of what is taught in the Scriptures can be challenging to believe. I’ve had to wrestled with a lot of what Jesus taught, also. His word says, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24. This same precept is taught throughout the Word of God.
I am always eager to learn more about Jesus and His teachings. So please, if you can please explain from the Scriptures the error in this message, I truly want to learn. What often happens is that we base our doctrine on our experiences rather than on what is taught in the Word of God. My goal is to only teach what the Lord teaches in His Word.
I hope this helps.
Be blessed.
Thank you so much for these lessons. The format of the lessons each day is just done so perfectly. And the spiritual insight each lesson is easily explained & on point. I have been truly blessed on this journey. And I am so grateful for the work you have put in to making this such a fulfilling experience for all of us following through on our fast. Be blessed.
Thank you so much! And yes this has been a huge help. Pretty exciting now that I know most of my prayers were not answered in my life because I was based them on sense knowledge rather than faith on our God’s unchangeable word. Thank you for all your work and for listening to the Holy Spirit to give us what we need to grow thereby. Many blessing to you.
I have been challenged that my receiving depends on my believing what I ask God in prayer . Am the only person who can stand between my answer prayer . I thank God for that revelation
This is a wonderful lesson in Believing what God says. The Daniel
Fast is going great with the food part no cravings and etc. but the staying focus when praying is a problem. Everytime when I Pray, my mind keeps drifting. Please pray for me that I remain focus when reading His words and Praying. Thank you for all of these God given lessons.
Good morning. This is a powerful message for me this morning. Thank you Susan for this message. I am a baby in Christ & have learned slowly about believing & Trusting in Gods Words. I am learning and seeing different signals. I also since excepting Jesus, I also lost my temper couple days ago, with a situation that I was walking through. I also noticed myself changing in that situation. Even thou I blew up, I also went to my bathroom and just cried and cried, because I lost my temper, I asked god’s forgiveness. I admit, i sometimes always don’t see the signs or signals. This message this morning I, know what i need to do, and honestly should do. So Thank you so much Susan. God Bless you!
Hi is it alright that I go over the words of encouragement and videos you have sent me when ever needed? I enjoyed and received it all.
Yes, Annie. Praise God we can feed on His inspired words. Be blessed
Thank you Susan for all your insightful teaching. I have also wrestled with the believe and receive teaching. I believe the Word of God to be true. I do have questions when someone in the Lord dies and that person had been prayed for. I am asking God to clear this matter up for me. Thank you again for your guidance and help in the spiritual realm. I started the Daniel Fast at midnight January 4 so I have almost completed my goal with you and the Lord’s help. In Christ, Cynthia White
