Build Your Faith Muscles

A  friend of the family gave me a call. As he unfolded the story on his heart, the tears soon began to flow from his eyes. He was facing a challenge that was raising fears, doubt, and those awful “I’m not good enough” feelings. He asked for my advice.

The first thing I told him was to stop talking the way he was talking! And then I went on and outlined a plan for him . . . it was a plan to walk in faith rather than fear. A plan to get into the “spiritual gym” and start strengthening his faith muscles so he could handle the pressure and come out victorious.

Our faith is like a muscle. And way too often, we don’t stay in shape so we’re ready when the pressure comes on us. That’s what happened to my friend. It can happen to any of us if we don’t stay prepared.
