For God So Loved You . . .
We live in a time when there is so much “noise” in our daily lives. So many messages coming to us. So many things to do that keep us busy. So much to think about. So much to cope with. Sometimes we can feel as if our mind is swirling at 100 mph.
That’s why I encourage you to take a few minutes. Push the pause button. And give yourself some time to think deeply on the amazing fact that God, who created all that is, loved you so much that He gave to you His one and only Son. His Son gave His life on the cross for you so you could be reconciled with your Creator and live forever with Him. Not just a while. But forever.
Your forever, or everlasting life, is happening right now. And this new life it what it says: NEW. It’s not an add-on to the old life you’ve been living. It’s not a religion that you practice. It’s a life. A new life. And this life in Christ is yours.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Our new life doesn’t stay at the foot of the cross, where are rightfully forever thankful for Christ’s sacrifice. Just like Jesus didn’t stay on the cross, nor should we. Instead, Jesus died and was buried and on the third day He rose again. He was resurrected. And His resurrection made possible our new life.
Now each one of us, who have accepted Christ as our Savior, have the choice and the responsibility to live in this priceless new life. The Bible calls us to this new way of living. It’s the kingdom of God kind of living. He gives us access to the powers of heaven. He gives us access to godly authority. He gives us access to His peace. His joy. His faith. He gave it all to us. That was His part.
Our part is to accept this new life in Christ and to walk in His ways.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
To walk is action. Walking is motion. Walking is moving. It’s a way of being. And we are called to a new way of being. This new life is so “out of this world” that we enjoy a different life. A rich and fulfilled life. A life of peace. A life of joy. A life of confidence and assurance. A life that is so powerful and successful that those around us are impressed. Not impressed by who we are on our own. But impressed because we walk in our new life in Christ. That’s how the light of Christ shines through us and makes a difference in the lives of others. And that’s who we bring glory to God.
That’s our part. To live in this new life and to be so loving, successful, joyful, and powerful that people want what we have, which is a new life in Christ
